Regular visitors will notice a change in the dates above. I thought that this would give a bit more scope for those bands which appeared after the 'good old days' of the late '70's and early '80's...check out the 'Bands' and 'Updates' pages to see what's new!
This site has been produced as an ongoing online resource to chart the development of local bands, venues, studios and so on between these dates. The focus is primarily based on the impact of Punk but will also take into account the breadth and diversity of local talent (or not, as the case may be..!)
The eventual aim is to develop this resource into a 'Family Tree', a series of compilation CD's, an online (and physical) archive and also possibly an exhibition of some kind. The reason being that this history (of a thriving and vibrant music scene) is now forgotten and, to some degree, 'lost'. Our aim is to reclaim it and celebrate the bands and people who brought it alive.
How you can help
